It is a good habit to remove your dentures every night. Since dentures are prosthetic devices, it is recommended that they should be left out of the mouth at night or at least for a few hours each day.
This allows time for the gums and tissues to rest and decompress. It is also ideal to brush your gums and palate with a soft bristled brush daily. This brushing helps to keep your mouth healthy by promoting blood circulation to the areas that are covered by the prosthetics. When you are not wearing the dentures, always put them in water so as to never let them dry out. Also, never put them into boiling water as this will cause warping and in turn the dentures will no longer fit properly. On occasion there are people who say that they cannot sleep without their dentures and in this case it is recommended that they are removed for a few hours during the day, either in the morning or in the evening to give the tissue a rest. Therefore if you have any questions regarding this topic, make sure that you discuss your concerns with your denturist.
